Hekla the volcano
Mount Hekla has been the most active volcano of Iceland ever since the time of the settlement. The first eruption which also was one of the most divesting happened in the year 1104 A.C., where lava bombs and thick layers of volcanic ashes extricated the population of a whole valley. Therefore it once was considered to be the entrance to hell. Nowadays it has changed its characteristics and erupts more often but less intense. So it has become a very interesting and harmless area to explore the rough lavas.
